Few can say they have changed a national law, but that's exactly what Kyle Lockwood and his team of campaigners did in 2015. 

​In November 2005, the Government reduced the validity of the New Zealand passport issued to those aged 16+ from ten years to five, the move was unpopular with the travelling public. Kyle Lockwood led a successful campaign to reinstate ten-year passports by lobbing Parliamentary Select Committee and Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet to make a positive change to Government legislation benefiting all New Zealand citizens aged 16 and over.  Read more

Kyle Lockwood Designs NZ's Preferred Alternative Flag

​The Silver Fern Flag first won a local design competition in July 2004. Since then Kyle has had widespread support for the flag from all over the world, including support from prominent New Zealanders, including former Governor General Dame Catherine Tizard, All Black Dan Carter, Olympian Ian Fergusson, cricketing great Sir Richard Hadlee, Olympic athlete Sir Peter Snell, Olympic Rower Mahe Drysdale, former All Black captain Richie McCaw, several former Prime Ministers, and Graham Bartram, Secretary-General of the International Federation of Vexillological Associations, Chief Vexillologist of the Flag Institute, and consultant on flag protocol to HM Queen Elizabeth II. Kyle achieved a world-first when his designs were voted first and second place in New Zealand’s national flag referendum of 2015. Read more

​Kyle Lockwood successfully campaigns for 18+ card in 1999

Prior to 1999, New Zealanders could not enter a bar or purchase alcohol if they were under 20 (or under 18 if accompanied by a parent) Driver licences did not have a photograph, and in practice young kiwis who appeared under 25 were faced with a ridiculous situation where they could only obtain entry to a bar with a New Zealand Passport, which is normally used to gain entry to another country, not a bar!  Read more
